Why Infrared Sauna

The Benefits and Science Behind It

Ancient healers knew that a slight fever helped to fight various illnesses. In a nutshell, using a sauna is using hyperthermia as a healing technique.

Using an infrared sauna to heat the body, is shown to have many benefits and effectively treat many conditions and diseases:

  • increases metabolism

  • improves blood circulation

  • improves immune system response

  • core body temperature elevation

  • treat infections such as acute bronchitis and pneumonia

  • elimination of toxic heavy metals

  • improves the skin

  • treat debilitating and chronic diseases such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Heart Disease.

  • and for even more severe diseases such as cancer and HIV

Far Infrared light/heat is a bandwidth of invisible sunlight. We cannot see it but our bodies get the benefit of the heating up action. These rays penetrate your body’s tissue far below the superficial skin layers, encouraging the transfer of water across cellular membranes. Once this hydration occurs, blood flow is improved which supports many healing processes in the body.

Let’s get a little scientific for a moment. There is a phenomenon called Resonant Absorption. It has to do with the infrared light waves being selectively absorbed by the tissues. Because of this, the radiant energy directly penetrates tissues to over 2.5 inches, in different parts of the body. This allows for a much warmer and deeper heating of the body, with less heating of the air.

This deeper heating penetration with cooler temperatures is what makes an infrared sauna more effective than a conventional sauna. Example: You might sweat 2-3 times more than a hot-air sauna, at 110-135 degrees F versus 170-200 degrees F in a hot-air sauna.
